Care and repair of the Town’s Sculptures

The Friends of Harlow Sculpture and Gibberd Gallery, regularly bring visitors into the town to see the wonderful collection of paintings in the Gibberd Gallery and the unique collection of sculptures placed in the community where people live, work and play it is very pleasing to know that the citizens of Harlow also contribute to the care of the Sculptures.

We especially want to say Thank You to all the people using the Charity Car Park at the College on Saturday 3rd June who helped us raise over £300.00 which will go toward the cleaning and care of at least one of the Town’s Sculptures.

We have also been very fortunate to have been chosen as the outgoing Council Chairperson Edna Stevens’s favourite cause. At the Council AGM on 25th May we were given the sum of £2,000.00 as a result of her fund-raising and will now be able to get another sculpture cleaned in this the 70th anniversary of the town. We will let the STAR and everybody know when the cleaning is complete.

So thank you once again to every one who contributed at the Cark Park and to Edna for her support.
