‘Proof Positive’ brings together a dynamic selection of 60 works from the past 15 years of publications from the Print Studio, Cambridge. All works are original and printed by hand. They reflect the collaborative relationships which develop between the studio and the artists. These works from 18 artists from the UK and USA show the diverse and experimental approach to process in contemporary printmaking, all made under the direction of artist and Master printmaker Kip Gresham. Prints will be exhibited by artists Willard Boepple, Michael Brick, Stephen Chambers RA, Rachael Clewlow, Alan Grabham, Anthony Green RA, Kip Gresham, Peter Griffin, Nick Kennedy, Ellen Lanyon, John McLean, Gina Medcalf, Mali Morris RA, Humphrey Ocean RA, Peter Randall-Page RA, Carol Robertson, Trevor Sutton, Alison Wilding RA.

With six Royal Academicians in the exhibition, ‘Proof Positive’ is part of a nationwide programme of talks, events and exhibitions celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Royal Academy of Arts in 2018. This is also a special time for Harlow, a town with a long association with contemporary art. The exhibition will share the Gibberd Gallery with our permanent collection of 20th century watercolours, which boasts the work of 17 distinguished Royal Academicians including Dame Laura Knight RA, William Dring RA, Elizabeth Frink RA, Anne Redpath RA, John Nash RA, William Roberts RA and Elizabeth Blackadder RA.

Alongside ‘Proof Positive’, the Gibberd Gallery has programmed a series of special events encouraging visitors to explore the technical nature of print and its innovations through tours, film, workshops and seminars. Please visit our events page for more details.
