Paperwork

An exhibition of drawings and original prints inspired by unusual industrial locations

By Jane Stobart

“My prints are inspired by the subject of people at work. I have spent many years drawing in some truly amazing places such as a bell foundry, construction sites, a tube train maintenance depot, historic sewage pumping stations, etc. The drawings I make are the starting point for all of my ideas and images and I work with the processes of etching and woodcut. I am attracted to locations with strong, dramatic light and dark, and find that the rich tonal range that etching can offer, evokes industrial drama like no other printmaking process.”
