In 1918, 40 per cent of women across the UK were legally entitled to vote for the first time. In the centenary year of the Representation of the People Act, we respond to the first wave of women to get the vote with Show Women: an exhibition of painting, sculpture, film, and installation by contemporary female artists. The exhibition is a collaboration between the Gibberd Gallery and two of the UK's most significant collections of British art, reflecting upon the changing landscape for women artsits over the last 100 years. Artworks loaned by the Ingram Collection and the Jerwood Collection will be on display alongside a special interpretation of the Sir Frederick Gibberd 20th Century Watercolour collection, highlighting the work of pioneering women artists within it.
